Vehicle Registrations: Resolved an issue where vehicle registrations were not displaying in offline mode. Once added, registrations can now be accessed both online and offline.
Activity History: Corrected an issue in the Activity History where refreshing an mDL displayed an inaccurate event log. The log will now accurately display only the refresh event when history is enabled.

Coloradans with a state-issued driver license or identification card can add their mDL to their myColorado® app and use it to provide proof of identity at Denver International Airport TSA security checkpoints and more than 250 participating airports when traveling outside of Colorado.

myColorado mDL vs. Colorado Digital ID

To help you understand the differences between the new myColorado mDL and the Colorado Digital ID, review the table below. Each form of digital identification is designed for different situations. The myColorado mDL meets the international ISO/IEC 18013-5 standard for identity verification at TSA checkpoints and elsewhere, while the Colorado Digital ID remains available for in-state proof of ID, age, and address at Colorado businesses and state agencies.

The app's contactless Colorado Digital ID is an electronic version of your driver license or state-issued identification (ID) card to show proof of ID, age and address within the state, and the new myColorado mDL allows you to use the app at TSA and anywhere mDL is accepted!

Device & System Requirements

iPhones with iOS version 16.4 or higher. Note: the myColorado mDL requires iOS 17.0 or higher.
Android smartphones with Android OS version 12.0 or higher. Note: the myColorado mDL requires Android 13.0 or higher.
Location access enabled to identify DMV locations and other state services near you.
Bluetooth access is required to present your myColorado mDL.
Camera access enabled to scan the barcode on the back of your Colorado driver license or state-issued ID, as well as selfie identity verification during account creation, and to add important documents to your digital wallet.
The Digital ID and other licenses may not display properly on some tablets or foldable devices at this time. To report a specific device issue, please contact our Customer Support team.
