Law Enforcement Partners
Colorado is the first state in the nation to offer residents the option to electronically transmit digital identification, vehicle registration and proof of insurance to law enforcement! Colorado State Patrol (CSP) and more than a dozen local law enforcement agencies accept the Colorado Digital ID™ as proof of identity, age and address.* The state is actively engaging with other local police and sheriff’s offices as they begin accepting Digital ID.
*Until full acceptance of the Digital ID is available at all local and state jurisdictions, residents should carry their physical driver license or state identification cards wherever they go.

Accept Digital ID with the myColorado Portal
If your agency doesn't use handheld scanners, or not all officers have them, you can use the myColorado Portal solution. Once you're provided with a myColorado Portal account and unique QR code, the process is similar to the three steps above:
Ask to see the resident's Digital ID within the myColorado app.
Invite them to scan your QR code (often affixed to a contact card or on your work phone) and share their data.
View their data in your Portal account on your mobile digital computer and easily paste data into your reporting system.
